The steep hills of Roxborough will come alive with the sound of music and the taste of our neighborhood’s own brew of Oktoberfest during the 2nd Annual Roxtoberfest celebration on Ridge Avenue in Roxborough.
Join the Roxborough community for a fun-filled day with the kids, or enjoy your favorite beer at a Roxtoberfest Beer Tent. Music is not far, the Roxtoberfest Showcase Stage will feature regionally acclaimed performers with music provided by the Nest Recording Studio.
Add food trucks, vendors, carnival games, a dunk tank and over 50 local businesses and you have the promise of a new tradition for everyone in the Roxborough community to enjoy.
ROXTOBERFEST SHOWCASE STAGE
This year's Roxtoberfest Showcase Stage will feature musical performances by:
Oktoberfest [äk-tōber-fest]: A traditional autumn festival held in Munich, Germany, every October that features beer-drinking and merrymaking.
Johnny Appleseed Cider - Johnny Appleseed is a refreshingly sweet and intense hard apple cider. It’s best enjoyed on the rocks, among good friends. Inspired by a legendary adventurer and storyteller, Johnny Appleseed Hard Apple Cider was created for anyone with a story to tell. So whenever friends gather to share a drink, a tale, or a night out, raise a glass of Johnny Appleseed Hard Apple Cider — to the hundreds of stories waiting to be told.
Becks Oktoberfest - This seasonal specialty is brewed in limited quantities. Beck’s brewmasters create the distinctive, malty-sweet, amber-colored brew so people throughout the world can celebrate the season popularly known in Germany as Oktoberfest and in Roxborough as Roxtoberfest.
Shock Top Pumpkin - Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat is a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale brewed with ripe pumpkins and a variety of autumnal spices, including nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves, for a refreshingly smooth beer that fully captures all the flavors of fall.
Starr Hill Brewery IPA - A classic American-style India Pale Ale, Northern Lights weighs in at 52 IBUs and 6.5% ABV. Characterized by its full-flavored bitterness and poignant citrus-floral aroma, a perfect blend of barley and hops make this a very balanced IPA. For the craftbrew connoisseur, Northern Lights is a deliciously crafted piece of the heavens.
FOR THE FAMILY
The Roxtoberfest fall street festival concept was developed by the Roxborough Development Corporation and Advent. The event is unique in that it was initiated by a non-profit community development corporation, the Roxborough Development Corporation, and will be operated with the help of local community residents. This year we thank, and all those businesses that are helping to make Roxtoberfest what Roxborough deserves. The Roxtoberfest is a free family-friendly event.
Roxborough is very accessible both by automobile and by public transportation.
